Quick fix
PC roaring like a jet?
Loud fans almost always mean heat. Here is why.
1
Working hard
Fans spin up when something is hammering the CPU. Open Task Manager and see what is pegged high, then close it.
2
Dust buildup
Dust clogs the vents and fans, so they spin louder to keep up. In Miami this packs in fast.
3
Blocked airflow
On a bed or couch the vents get covered. Use it on a hard flat surface or a stand so air can move.
4
Blow it out
With the PC off and unplugged, use a can of compressed air to clear the vents and fan blades.
5
Beat the heat
Our Florida summers push fans harder. A cooler room helps the fan ease off.
!
Heads up
Always shut down and unplug before opening the case or spraying air inside. Hold the fan blades still so the air does not over spin them, and do not use a vacuum, it can build static.
Still loud after a good cleaning? A fan may be worn or failing. I can check it and swap it if needed.
