FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will an SSD really make my old computer faster?

Dramatically — usually 5–10× faster boot, app launch, and file access. It's the single best upgrade for any computer 4+ years old. Labor is $59 plus the drive itself ($50–$200 depending on capacity).

Can you migrate my Windows install without losing files or apps?

Yes — OS migration is included with our SSD install service. Your apps, files, settings, and Windows activation all carry over exactly as they were.

How much RAM do I actually need?

16GB is the minimum for a modern setup — anything less and Windows + Chrome alone will eat it. 32GB is what we recommend for modern gaming, multitasking, video editing, streaming, 3D work, VMs, or heavy browser use. 64GB+ is overkill for most people unless you're doing serious creative or AI work. We'll check what's actually using your RAM before recommending an upgrade.

Can you upgrade the GPU in my pre-built desktop?

Usually yes, provided your power supply and case can handle it. We verify PSU wattage, connector availability, and physical clearance before recommending a card — no surprises after purchase.
